Marcus Mosiah Garvey

The Jamaican born African nationalist Marcus Garvey was a hughley influential black leader, thrilling his audiences with dreams of an African empire and the Black Star shipping line, which would help themto be repatriated. Garvey's career was cut short by a 1925 conviction for mail fraud after he missued funds raised to start the Black Star Line. he was imprisoned and deported to Jamaica, where he died in obscurity.
