Mary Thelma Washington
Mary Thelma Washington Wylie (1906-2005) made history as the first African-American woman in the U.S. certified as a public accountant (CPA). She helped establish one of the largest Black-owned firms in the country and became a leader for future generations of accountants. A woman of vision and a mentor to many, she created opportunity and inspired many African-American accountants and CPAs in Illinois and across the country
