Lynn Jones Huntley
Lynn Huntley became President of the Southern Education Foundation at the start of 2002 after serving as SEF's Executive Vice-President and director of the Comparative Human Relations Initiative. A lawyer who began her career at the NAACP Legal Defense Fund, Huntley served as general counsel to the New York City Commission on Human Rights and as section chief and Deputy Assistant Attorney General in the Civil Rights Division of the United States Department of Justice.
For 13 years before coming to SEF, Huntley was at the Ford Foundation where she served as program officer, deputy director and director of the Ford Foundation's Rights and Social Justice Program.
Today Huntley is as a member of the boards of directors of Grantmakers for Education, CARE USA, the Interdenominational Theological Center, and the American Constitution Society among other institutions. Lynn Huntley is the first woman to lead SEF as its CEO.
