Breaking News: President Barack Obama travels to California Wednesday (March 18, 2009), where he plans to promote his economic agenda, preside over several town hall-style meetings, and become the first incumbent U.S. president to appear on The Tonight Show.
The visit comes at a time when California is feeling hard hit by the recession, a housing meltdown and higher-than-average unemployment rates. But Obama will most likely spend his two-day visit answering questions about insurance giant AIG and the $165 million they doled out in post-bailout bonuses while receiving taxpayer bailout money.
