Faith Ringgold was born in 1930. Faith is an African American artist, Best known for her painted story quilts. She was born and raised in Harlem and educated at the City college of New York.She has recieved more than 75 awards, fellowships , citations and honors, including the Solomon R. Guggenheim Fellowship for painting.
